Testosterone together with growth hormone (GH; hGH) and insulin are the principal muscle building hormones. But these hormones can legally only be prescribed by a physician. This is why the supplement industry is developing (legally) natural "boosters" of these hormones.
The question is: How effective are these supplements?
This page contains a list with natural testosterone boosters and one study (research article) backing them up. You can read more (with more studies) about these boosters by clicking on them.

Most of these studies are about natural testosterone boosters in mice, rats, or other animals rather than mammals like us humans. The research performed on humans include males with already low (not normal) testosterone levels, meaning that these so called boosters are probably not effective in healthy males.

Testosterone boosters should be used by men with very low T levels to restore energy and wellbeing. Look for supplements containing genuine ingredients and do your homework by reading user reviews before you actually buy them. For example, reading Ageless Male testimonials will give you an idea about the worth of the product. Its primary ingredients include fenugreek seed extract, zinc, magnesium, and vitamin B6 which raise the level of free testosterone in the blood and reinstate vigor and vitality. Use supplements with caution; and don’t forget to abide by a wholesome meal plan and exercise schedule for maximum result.
